Nothing like being late to the party. However, I’ve spent untold amount of time
trying to rationalize this brouhaha about Obamacare and the robed denizens of
the Supreme Court. There appears to be
three sides to the arguments. Side one
says; “Great, the Chief Justice has saved us from further use of the Commerce
Clause by Congress to trash our freedoms.”
Side two says; “This will allow Congress to wrap everything is a tax
label while they trash our freedoms.”
Side three, as stated by Jeffery Lord of the American Spectator, Says;
"This is a Neville Chamberlain type appeasement to the statists.” This whole
thing brings me to a story of years back:
A lady
takes her teen age daughter, who is having female problems, to the local Gynecologist.
The doctor makes numerous tests and when he returns to the exam room he tells the mother “I’m sorry to tell you, but
your daughter has venereal disease." The
woman shrieks “Oh my God, how could this happen?
Doctor could she have gotten it off a toilet seat?” The Doctor replied “Yes, I suppose so, but it
would have been very uncomfortable.”
The doctor is right, we have been screwed.
